Two stations say, get ready, your going to be clobbered. Two others, say, way out to sea, don't worry about it.. The other two basically say, makes you wonder, don't it? So, are we or aren't we getting the big one? wondering minds would like to know.

The wondering minds in Baltimore harbour are not wondering any more.
I find it had to believe they lost a Ferry in the Typhoon that hit Madigascar. Why would you let the ferry sail?

I used to work with a Nurse who hailed from Florida. I can still hear her soft drawl as she would shake her head and say, "Little boys who lie grow up to be TV weathermen."

I could understand how on the northwest coast with little satellite coverage and no weather ships how they were unable to predict the weather in the afternoon, but I am amazed at how many times they are wrong in the center of the states.

Weather is really important to me, with building golf courses and farming it can make a BIG difference.

Years ago my employees built me a 'weather station' as a gift. They claimed it was ABSOLUTELY 100% acurate.

It is a rock hanging from a rope.

Here is how it works;
When it is wet, it's raining.
When it's white, it's snowing.
When it's swinging, it's windy.
When it's warm, it's sunny.
When it's gone, there's a tornado.

Best of luck.

I'm convinced that wx folks are politicians at heart. Not that they have a clue about what's gonna happen..but they spin stories and hope you buy them.

Here in Alaska, when I was driving airplanes for money, I'd call for a wx briefing every morning for my route (required). I'd get the "official" briefing and then was asked to let them know what the wx was REALLY like after I flew the route....duh??

suppose to be warm today, dog got wrapped around a bush and I had to go untie him.. 15 degrees at 6:30 am this morning. I do feel the snow is over, which is fine by me. Last week at or near 50, this week back to 30's for the high. I think with the new doplar and other gizmo's that the WX people miss more now then when they use to guess (after reading the farmers almanac)

The weather people seem to spend most of their lives in small, windowless rooms staring at computer screens while the real weather is outdoors. I frequently observe them saying what the weather currently is while looking outdoors and seeing what must be a different world. There ought to be a law that all weather people have windows in their offices.
